Sir Godfrey Hilton Thomson (1881-1955) held the Bell Chair of Education at Edinburgh University from 1925 to 1952. He was concurrently Director of Studies at the Edinburgh Provincial Training Centre (later Moray House College of Education). His papers are subdivided as follows:
