William Wallace (d. 1786) shared the Chair of Universal Civil History and Greek and Roman Antiquities with Charles Mackie (1688-1770) between 1754 and 1765. Both men were succeeded by John Pringle (1741-1811) who held the Chair from 1765 to 1780.
