William Delacour was the first Master of the Trustrees Drawing Academy, the forerunner of Edinburgh College of Art.

Delacour was either born in France or in Great Britain to French parents. From 1740 he was active as a portrait and landscape painter, and as a designer of theatrical scenery. Having settled Edinburgh, he was appointed the first Master of the Trustees Academy when it opened in 1760, remaining in post until his death in 1767.
