The Act also granted statutory recognition to the Students' Representative Council, entitling it to petition the Senatus Academicus on any matter concerning the teaching and discipline of the University, and the University Court on any other matter affecting students. It was also to be consulted by the Rector before he appointed his Court Assessor.
