Portrait of George Husband Baird (1761-1840) by Andrew Geddes.

Three quarter length poirtrait in which the sitter is shown half face. His hands hold an open book on a table before him. Lying on the table behind his right arm is the mace of office. The main part of the background is occupied by a heavy dark haning. Something of the power of the original portrait is conveyed by the copy. This copy portrait was, for a period, framed in the frame belonging to the original portrait, owned by Mr. George Cheyne. The frames were swopped back when the original portrait was returned to Mr. Cheyne in April 1977.
