In 1964 Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies (hitherto part of the Faculty of Medicine) became the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

Following university restructuring in 2002, it merged once more with the Faculty of Medicine to form the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine.
