In 2002, Edinburgh University underwent major structural change. Its nine Faculties were reconstituted as three Colleges, while Departments were reorganised and replaced by Schools. The College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine replaced the existing Faculties of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine. It now consists of the following schools:
- Biomedical Sciences
- Clinical Sciences
- Molecular, Genetic and Population Health Sciences
- Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies
The Schools of Clinical Sciences and of Molecular, Genetic and Population Health Sciences also cover some subject areas that were previously taught in the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
