John Mylne(1611–1667), Master Mason to the Crown of Scotland and to the Town of Edinburgh, built a house for the Professor of and lodgings for six students at the college of Edinburgh, with funds supplied by Bartilmo Somerville who endowed the Chair of Divinity in 1639.
