Classics

The Chair of Classics was established in 1986, as a successor to the previous Chairs in Greek and Humanity. At the same time, a newly created Department of Classics brought together the pre-existing Departments of Greek, Latin, and Classical Archeology. Since major restructuring of Edinburgh University in 2002, Classics has been part of the School of History, Classics and Archaeology in the College of Humanities and Social Science.
